Microlighting

The Irish Aviation .Authority have licenced Newtownards airfield as one of only 4 licenced microlight training schools in Ireland and the only one in the North.

We had a visit from the I.A.A. Safety Officer and he had no hesitation in granting us a licence the first time that this has been done outside of the republic.

Ken and myself were interviewed and attended a Flight Examiners Seminar in Dublin and were awarded IAA Instructor and examiner ratings to go with our UK ratings.

We at Newtownards are the only Flexwing school that you can get both UK licence and the republics ICAO recognised microlight licence. If you need any more details let me know and I will send them on.

Regards  Gerry  Snoddon

Newtownards now has the only flexwing school in Ireland that the IAA recognise and the only school that you can get a flexwing Irish licence.
